Our philosophy

An ancient and modern food philosophy at the same time, for a new era of animal welfare. Fresh and selected meats for feeding our four-legged friends.

Who we are

Our company was born from a passion for animals. We take care of producing healthy, quality foods with maximum transparency to guarantee their well-being.

Meat is our main ingredient: we only work with carefully chosen meats, coming mostly from our green Irpinia and above all from the central-southern regions.

We have different types of proteins and we specialize in pulping meat and creating healthy and balanced mixes.

Behind this careful care for dogs and cats there is the story of Carmine and Serena, who in 2017 started their project by creating the Doctor Fox brand.

Carmine's training began in 2002, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Teramo where he obtained a degree in Animal Protection and Welfare.

During his studies, he then worked as a handler in assisted therapies and attended Think Dog courses to become a dog educator - a job which he carried out in the following years in London.

Having returned to Italy he began to support his father Antonio, a veterinarian who since '94 has dedicated himself to the fight against stray dogs with the ASSPA association, of which he is president, and it is here that he meets Serena who has already been supporting the veterinarian in sterilization interventions for some time and in adoptions.

Meanwhile, Carmine participates in the specialization course in Canine Ethology at the Federico II University of Naples, assiduously attending courses and seminars, and with Serena he continues training on Barf natural nutrition in Denmark, at the Danish Institute Carnivor Center.

Hence the strong desire to dedicate ourselves to the production of food for dogs and cats and the foundation of Doctor Fox - Fox Service S.r.l.: it is the beginning of a journey together, a story of family and business, of projects, study, experience and deep love for animals.

In September 2023 Carmine further deepened his training, obtaining a master in Animal Nutrition and Feeding at the University of the Studies of Teramo. The thesis, entitled Feeding the future: the sustainable development of a petfood through the circular economy, aims to explore sustainable petfood through the principles of the circular economy

Doctor Fox is the creator of the Chewability Index of dried snacks: through webinars and seminars dedicated to the importance of chewing , held in various regions of Italy for four years, trains industry professionals and private owners to make an informed choice of the right snack for their dog.
